Celebrities from around the country are descending on London for the star-studded awards show this evening, but prior to the event Katie had a slight fashion faux pas
Katie McGlynn had a fashion disaster when she dropped her red carpet dress in a muddy puddle whilst travelling to the National Television Awards.
The 26-year-old star, who plays Sinead Tinker on the Coronation Street cobbles, was making her way to London for tonight’s star studded event when disaster struck.
The Rochdale-born actress opted for a huge furry coat and a black peaked cap as she headed down to the capital in time for the event on Tuesday 28.
Outside the train station, she accidentally dropped the clothes bag in which she was carrying her glitzy dress.
The blonde bombshell didn’t look pleased when the bag appeared to pop open on the wet ground.
Prior to the fashion mishap, Katie shared her excitement at heading back to the NTAs and also expressed her surprise that an entire year has flown by since she last went to the event.
“And just like that it’s been a whole year… looking forward to catching up with my corrie fam tomorrow night #ntas #aboutlastyear #timeflies #corrie,” she posted on Instagram yesterday.
She then showed off a fabulous manicure that she had done ahead of tonight’s event appearance, with one nail painted with the letters ‘NTA’.
Preparations are well underway for tonight’s celeb-filled awards ceremony which this year will be hosted by comedian David Walliams.
Lots of TV favourites are up for awards at the NTAs 2020 with presenters such as Ant and Dec and Holly Willoughby being nominated, whilst actors from Danny Dyer to Jodie Comer also competing for top prizes.
Among other celebs that have been spotted making their way to London for the event was Essex WAG Kate Ferdinand, who wheeled a tiny suitcase across the city earlier today.
Holly Willoughby has also arrived at the 02 Arena ahead of tonight’s event, although she opted for casual jeans and a jumper as she headed for hair and makeup.
Yesterday, fellow Essex local Lydia Bright, also shared her frustrations at trying to find a dress for the NTAs whilst being eight months pregnant.
After the Loose Women cast chose to make a statement last year by wearing black tuxedos, Nadia Sawalha has also teased that this year all the women plan to wear red gowns to form part of an equally powerful statement.
“Often people want to drive a wedge…We’re really great friends so we love to show solidarity on the red carpet,” the TV personality said in a Youtube video.
Tonight’s red carpet event is bound to feature surprises, fabulous gowns, shock wins and probably a few fashion faux pas. It’s a celeb event that’s not to be missed.
