Kobe Bryant‘s helicopter crashed on a treacherous hill behind some of Hollywood’s most famous homes.

The basketball legend, 41, and his 13-year-old daughter Gianna were among the nine people who perished in the horrific accident on a mountainside above Calabasas, California.

Pictures from the scene show the whole area shrouded in fog.

The site of the crash is close to the homes of stars including the Kardashians and Drake, who all live in Calabasas.

The deadly hillside is likely to be visible from the homes of both Kourtney and Khloe Kardashian, who own mansions in exclusive residential community The Oaks – nestled in the shadow of the crash site.

Kim Kardashian and her husband Kanye West also live nearby in Hidden Hills across the freeway, along with family matriarch Kris Jenner and younger sister Kylie Jenner.

Other stars who have homes in the area include Ozzy Osbourne, Will Smith and Drake, who owns a lavish £5.9 million mansion near Calabasas.

Bryant, who had a glittering 20-year career with the LA Lakers, was travelling by private helicopter when it went down on the treacherous hillside.

Nine people, including Bryant and his 13-year-old daughter Gianna, were confirmed dead as a result of the crash which is now under investigation.

Among those who also died were Orange Coast College baseball coach John Altobelli, 56, wife Keri, their daughter Alyssa and Harbor Day School assistant coach Christina Mauser.

Gianna and Alyssa were teammates at the Mamba Academy and were flying from Orange County to Thousand Oaks to attend a game.

A statement from the police added: “We have manifest that indicates there were nine people on board the aircraft – the pilot plus eight individuals.

“There is wide speculation who the identities are, however it would be entirely inappropriate right now to identify anyone by name until the coroner has made the identification through their very deliberative process and then made notifications to their next of kin.
