A foot massage to help you quickly fall asleep.
Michele Stevens, a reflexologist, explains how to do a self-massage in several steps. We also added some more techniques for you, that you can combine with the advice from Michele.
You can start with the point on top of the big toe. Massage the point in circular motions. Then slightly press and hold it for several seconds.
Now massage the big toe with your thumb. Start from the side of you toe and move from bottom to top. Then go to the center and then the other side of the toe. Repeat at least three times.
Massage the upper part of the foot. Move up to your toes, putting pressure to all sections of the foot pad. Repeat these actions several times.
Massage your mid-foot. To do this, press your thumb across your foot, from one side to the other in circular motions. Repeat at least three times.
Massage the center of the foot with your thumb in circular motions. Then press this point and hold for a couple of seconds.
Gently pull each toe on the foot. Start with the big toe and move to the little one. Repeat several times. You can also massage between your toes.
You need to find the highest point of your ankle on the inner part of your leg. Count four fingers width from this point up. Now press behind the bone and massage in circular movements for five seconds. Pregnant women should avoid this pressure point.
You need to lie on your back and bend your knees. Take your foot in your hand and curl your toes. There will be a depression on the sole of your foot. Apply pressure to this point and massage in circular motions. Repeat with the other foot.
